HCR is a performance value we have developed for our thermal equipment that measures the warmth on a scale of 3 to 9, with 9 providing the most warmth. HCR lets us provide a simple reference that combines the difference in insulation materials, external conditions, and body sensitivity.


Whether it is light insulation for active pursuits or complete heat retention in extreme Nordic and Arctic climates, your purpose dictates how to apply HCR.


The choice of thermal performance is always individual, and should also be balanced against the intended activity and needs for flexibility and agility in the field.

Conductivity Resistance


Reducing the amount of heat leaving your body is the main goal when adding insulating layers. Insulation traps in the heat, while still ventilating moisture - to provide you with warmth and comfort.
